1. Our Commitment to Accessibility
The website KriatTehillim.co.il, operated by Chai BaReshet (licensed dealer no. 316372465, Israel), works to make its content accessible to the entire public, including people with disabilities, in accordance with:
- The Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Service Accessibility Adjustments), 5773-2013
- Israeli Standard IS 5568 (based on WCAG 2.0)
- WCAG 2.0 guidelines at level AA
We work to make the site accessible at WCAG 2.0 level AA. Accessibility is an ongoing process and we strive to improve it continuously. This statement does not represent certified compliance with the standard, but an honest description of our status and efforts.
2. Available Accessibility Features
2.1 Accessibility widget
The site includes an accessibility widget available from every page, via the accessibility button in the corner of the screen. The widget allows:
- Increasing / decreasing text size — three levels beyond the default
- High-contrast mode — dark background with light text for maximum contrast
- Link highlighting — links underlined and marked in a bold color
- Readable font — switch to Arial/Helvetica, considered easy to read
- Large cursor — enlarged mouse pointer
- Stopping animations — stops motion and transitions (also honors
prefers-reduced-motion) - Accessibility reset — back to defaults with one click
Preferences are stored in your browser (localStorage) and applied on every return visit.
2.2 How to use the widget
- Click the round button in the lower corner of the screen (accessibility icon)
- Choose the adjustment you need from the menu that opens
- You can close the widget by clicking "close" or clicking the button again
- All adjustments apply to every page of the site and are saved for future visits
2.3 Built-in accessibility features
- Pages declare their language, with full RTL (right-to-left) support for Hebrew and LTR for English
- Full keyboard navigation — all interactive elements are reachable with Tab
- Alternative texts (alt) for visual elements
- Color contrast: the ratio between text and background meets at least AA
- Dark mode available for comfortable reading in different lighting conditions
- A dedicated font (Frank Ruhl Libre) suited to reading vocalized Hebrew text
- Text size can also be changed via regular browser settings
- Semantic structure: HTML5 semantic elements (main, nav, header, footer, article, section, h1-h6)
- Content can be enlarged up to 200% without loss of content
3. Known Accessibility Barriers
We work on continuous improvement. Barriers we have identified that are not yet fully addressed:
- Some dynamic content (real-time chapter updates) may need improved ARIA live-region announcements for screen readers
- Hebrew vowel points (nikud) may be difficult for some screen readers — we are examining improvements in this area
Found an accessibility barrier not listed here? We would love to hear — see section 4.
4. Accessibility Inquiries
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, you can contact the site's accessibility coordinator:
Accessibility coordinator: Chai BaReshet

We aim to respond to every inquiry within 14 business days.
5. Statement Preparation Date
This accessibility statement was prepared in June 2026 and will be updated as the site changes and as we improve its accessibility.
